Joellen Craft lives in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a 2009 MFA graduate of the Creative Writing program at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and a 2005 graduate of Oberlin College. Her poems and reviews have appeared in The Fourth River, The Laurel Review, The Penn Review, Radar Poetry, The Collagist (nominated for a Pushcart Prize), The Nashville Review, Hunger Mountain, Fugue, Grist, StorySouth, Sugar Mule, FutureCycle, The Pedestal, Juked (awarded their 2009 Poetry Prize), and Adroit.

She teaches English at Western High School, the oldest remaining all-girls public school in America.
